HUMAN TRAFFICKING PROGRAM
"Learning to be free again"
The International Labour Organization estimates that there are 40.3 million victims of human trafficking globally. 81% of them are trapped in forced labor. 25% of them are children, 75% are women and girls.
Traffickers use violence, threats, deception, debt bondage, and other manipulative tactics to force people to engage in commercial sex or to provide labor against their will.
Immigrants and foreign nationals are vulnerable of this type of abuse due to the risk factors including relocation, isolation, emotional distress and poor support system.
ALAS FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER provides free of charge client center comprehensive case management, Trauma Focus Mental Health Therapy, direct services, advocacy, housing assistance, medical assistance, crisis intervention assistance, Legal advocacy, Supportive Services, and referrals to community for victims and survivors.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT PROGRAM

ALAS FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER provides Mental Health Trauma Focus Intervention by creating a safe environment to heal emotional harm caused by abuse.
We provide TFCBT Individual/Family Therapy, Mental Health Case Management, Legal advocacy, Community Providers Referrals, Assistance with Protection orders, referrals for community outreach, and referrals for out of state shelters or housing assistance relocation.

ALAS Family Support Center works in collaboration with different organizations as State of Attorney Office, Sexual Assault Team, Victim Assistance Program and Guardian ad Litem in order to assist victims of abuse and their parents to understand what is abuse and the emotional effects of abuse in families and children. ALAS offers preventive education program of child abuse, child sexual abuse, assertive parenting skills, abuse parenting prevention program. We are giving parents and child survivors tools to process trauma but stop the cycle of abuse.
REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

ALAS FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER provides legal advocacy working in collaboration with attorneys with expertise in immigration, civil, family and criminal law.Â
We provide the following services: advocacy, assistance, client center case management, coordination of services,  referrals for education, referrals for low cost medical services, Spanish/Mayan Language translation & interpretation, referrals for transportation to Immigration Court or Medical appointments and Mental Health Therapy in Spanish and Mayan Language for uninsured participants.
INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY MENTAL HEALTH OUTPATIENT INTERVENTION
Time to heal together.
ALAS FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER provides Individual/ Family Outpatient Intervention and Target Case Management for children, adults, seniors or families who suffered an emotional problems that affect their daily activities and their relationship with others.Â
We have different programs which participants can qualify for services and support through process of the intervention.Â
Having or not having insurance is not a requirement to qualify for our services.
SUPPORTIVE SERVICES

ALAS FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER provides the following supportive services:
Legal Advocacy working in collaboration with Attorneys who come to our office two times a months to assist our participants in regard Immigration, Civil, and Family law.
Translation and Interpreter services for Limited English Proficient and Mayan descendants participants and for their families in order to increase the access of community resources and facilitate the navigation of the services.
Referral for court and medical appointments transportation.
Assistance for Protection Orders and notarize documents.
Facilitate Disability Medical Care Access including care coordination, linkage, advocacy, appointments and referrals coordination.
Children with Learning Disabilities supportive and coordination of services.

PREVENTIVE ABUSE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH

ALAS FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER provides preventive education and training for community providers, community parents, teens, law enforcement, Fire Rescue, and Victim advocates in order to increase awareness of Human Trafficking, Sexual Abuse prevention, Domestic Violence, Vicarious Trauma, Victims Cultural Diversity and Cyber Abuse.

Alas Family Support is determine to reduce the amount of cases of abuse in our communities and increase the trust and collaboration with law enforcement to hold offenders accountable for their abusive behaviors.

This program helps community participants to address and increase awareness about the root and causes of the abusive behaviors and challenges perpetrators to recognize, educate and adjust their abusive behaviors.
